[Prequel - DiLun's First Love]
JingWen (雅静文), DiLun’s JC classmate; normally a gentle and quiet girl, yet when circumstances call for, her courage to speak up overshadow the usual outspoken.
Despite winning the admiration of many guys in school, it was DiLun’s mysteriousness, coupled by his wits and gentlemanly behaviour which drew JingWen to him. No one else, not even speaking to the Discipline Master nor the Principal makes JingWen as nervous as speaking to DiLun. For this, JingWen and DiLun were never closer than mere classmates, despite seeing each other so often in class, for two whole years.
Even when they graduated, their relationship was still “I know of your existence” type of classmates that’s all. And as each moved on to their next stage in life (DiLun in NS and JingWen in Uni), contacts were not maintained, and JingWen had decided to keep this sweet first crush all to herself.
Nevertheless, as drama calls for, after two years in NS and Uni respectively, DiLun (first year), actually happens to take the same Elective module as JingWen (in her last year), and coincidence is such that they were in the same tutorial group. Obviously, in the need to find a project mate, one would find someone you know previously, unless that person is your enemy.
The project was more of a pit-hole than a blessing for JingWen. Not only did this chance to meet rekindled her crush for DiLun, the opportunity to know DiLun better simply makes JingWen’s feelings towards him, irrevocable.
DiLun was never an insensitive boy; in fact, his meticulousness has always been one of his strengths. Of course he noticed JingWen’s feelings for him, but he knew that his priority would always be, on tracking down the murderer of his Father. He was not sure if he could commit himself in a relationship; so he did gave it a serious consideration, yet he made no response known, especially since their project mate status is coming to completion following a semester’s efforts.
A month of semester break was unbearable for JingWen. All along, her peaceful anticipation of semester breaks previously was abruptly interrupted as DiLun got into her life again. She does not bears hope that she will so happen to take the same module as him this time round, and the coming semester, being her final semester, seem to be the last chance JingWen will get to see DiLun.
She missed her chance three years ago, this was one time, and she did not want to let it slip again. So a couple of days before the new semester begins, JingWen asked to meet DiLun. DiLun was no slow mammal; he knew immediately what the meeting up was all about. After a few seconds of consideration, he made it clear that he would be there, as agreed.
The purpose of meeting up was as expected. Confession. It was not only JingWen confessing to DiLun, but also DiLun to JingWen. DiLun made it clear to JingWen that his priority in life currently, is to track down the murderer of his father. He explained to her plainly about how she may feel neglected. But he too, promised that, if JingWen is willing to, he wish to give both of them a chance, and that even if he can never drop the task of hunting down the murderer, he will never be unfaithful, to his girlfriend. His sincerity touched JingWen to tears. Would any girl like JingWen, not be willing to be DiLun’s girlfriend?
And so, it was sweet first love, for the both of them.
